WEEK I
The mustang was completely stripped and all metal work repair started immediately on the car. There were some areas of rust in the car (typical in classic mustangs). These areas were cut out and new sheet metal was welded in and smoothed. Some people opt for putting bondo on rusted metal. This is a temporary fix as the rust will start showing again and spread after some time and. Rule of thumb: ELIMINATE ALL RUST WHILE YOU CAN. |

 |
After repairing all sheet metal the mustang was sanded down to bare metal. This is a necessary step to ensure that there is no further rust on the car and will help in finding any pre-existing bondo on the car. Once completely stripped down to bare metal, further metal work was needed to ensure that there are no defects in the metal.
Primer was also laid out on the car to prep it for paint. |

The underside was also repaired. We had to replace the floor pans since they had some rust on them. The whole under side of the mustang was repaired where needed and they sprayed with anti-rust material to prevent future rust formation. The mustang’s underside now looks in as new condition. |

WEEK II
The mustang was then sprayed with primer and paint prep material to get it ready for paint. The Shelby hood scoop was added on the bonnet and was smoothed on the edges to make it appear as part of the hood. |

The next step before paint is to make sure that the car is mechanically sound. All brakes hardware was replaced, new brake shoes installed as well as a brand new brake booster. Other parts installed in the engine were a timing chain, fuel pump and filter, oil pump and filter, distributer, alternator, ignition coil, voltage regulator, starter relay, and Carburetor, along with complete engine gaskets replacement. These are only a FEW of the parts that were installed. I will add an all inclusive parts list once completed. |
